Behind ‘Back to You’

The concept for “Back to You” came to me as the back-to-school season was approaching.

I’ve always loved this time of year. There is something about the shift in the weather. The cooler mornings, the changing light, the crispness in the air, and eventually the beautiful foliage. I especially love the way the rising or setting sun reflects through the trees, illuminating all of those colors before the leaves eventually let go and the trees become bare.

There is something about this season that feels like an invitation to begin again.

A new school year.
A new season.
A new rhythm.
A new chapter.

There is so much emphasis on starting new, on change and forward movement. But as I thought about all of that, I found myself wondering:

What if sometimes what we really need isn’t to become someone new, but to come back to ourselves?

We so easily lose touch with ourselves in the midst of everyday life. Work. Family. Responsibilities. Relationships. Expectations. The endless list of things that need our attention.

And while we are busy taking care of everything and everyone else, it can become surprisingly easy to stop checking in with the one person experiencing it all: ourselves.

When you feel disconnected

I truly believe that our lack of connection to ourselves can contribute to so much of what we experience—feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, restless, unfulfilled, or simply like something is missing. Sometimes we may not even be able to articulate what is wrong. We just know that we don’t quite feel like ourselves.

Over the years, I’ve come to recognize that feeling in myself.

When I feel disconnected, when something feels off, when I notice that I’m moving through life rather than actually experiencing it, I often discover that I have, in some way, disconnected from myself.

And what I’ve learned is that coming back doesn’t necessarily require a dramatic life overhaul. Sometimes it begins with something very simple:

Listening.
Moving.
Breathing.
Feeling.
Making space.
Paying attention.
Doing something that brings you joy.

For me, movement has always been one of the most powerful ways back.

For the first half of my life, I can honestly say that I was very disconnected from my body and, in many ways, from myself. I was always interested in health and cared deeply about being healthy, but many of my behaviors didn’t necessarily reflect that.

Then I discovered Pilates.

Pilates was the first time I truly felt safe in my body.

It was the first time I began to understand that I could connect with a part of myself, intentionally engage it, and actually feel what was happening. I could tell my body what to do and, perhaps more importantly, I could begin to listen to what my body was telling me.

That may sound simple, but for me it was profound.

Pilates created a sense of physical and mental freedom that I had never experienced before.

Through that connection, I began to build strength, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Over the years, that strength and confidence continued to grow through a lot of other work, exploration, and healing, but Pilates became a foundation for my journey.

And once I experienced that feeling of connection, I wanted more of it.

My curiosity, and my desire to have a deeper, more meaningful relationship with myself, led me down many different paths. It eventually led to a career shift into physical therapy. It led me to work with spiritual teachers, to read countless books about personal growth and self-discovery, and to explore different modalities and practices.

Most importantly, it led me to start asking different questions.

How do I want to feel?

How do I actually want to live?

What matters to me?

What brings me joy?

What is my purpose?

And perhaps the biggest question:

What does it mean to truly be connected to myself?

The journey has not been neat.

It has been messy. At times confusing. At times uncomfortable. There have been moments when I felt incredibly connected to myself and moments when I completely lost my way again.

But maybe that is the point. I don’t think we ever permanently arrive at ourselves. I think throughout our lives, we will continuously be challenged to return.

Life is going to happen. We will have responsibilities. We will have relationships. We will experience loss, change, uncertainty, stress, unexpected curveballs—and beautiful adventures, too. Sometimes we will have to step away from ourselves simply to survive what life is asking of us.

And that doesn’t mean we have failed. It means we are human.

The beautiful part is that we can always come back.

Back to our bodies.
Back to our breath.
Back to what matters.
Back to our joy.
Back to our strength.
Back to our intuition.
Back to ourselves.

Back to You.

That is the heart behind the Back to You Journey Packs.

I created these because I know what it feels like to sense that something is missing but not know exactly where to begin. I also know how powerful it can be to have someone create a little space for you to pause, reconnect, and start listening again.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about reconnecting with yourself for a while.

Maybe you’ve been putting yourself last for so long that you’re not even sure what you need anymore.

Maybe you feel disconnected from your body.

Maybe you’re craving movement, strength, joy, stillness, or simply a moment that belongs entirely to you.

Or maybe you’re just beginning to realize that somewhere along the way, you lost touch with a part of yourself—and you’re ready to find your way back.

Wherever you are, there is no wrong place to begin.

The Back to You Journey Packs are not simply a promotion or another offering. They represent the entire idea behind Spine to Soul.

The belief that caring for your body can be a doorway into something much deeper.

The belief that feeling better physically can create space for feeling more connected, present, confident, and alive.

The belief that you are worthy of claiming something for yourself—not because you have earned it by taking care of everyone else first, but simply because you matter, too.

This is the essence of my mission. To help you reconnect with your body. To help you create space for yourself. To help you experience the freedom that comes from feeling at home within yourself. And ultimately, to remind you that no matter how far you may have wandered, you can always come back.

I would be honored to walk alongside you as you begin that journey.

Back to your body.
Back to your strength.
Back to your joy.
Back to yourself.

Back to You.
